WARRINGTON – North Penn began Saturday's duel meet at Central Bucks South with three consecutive pins and never trailed in the team score, winning 37-34.  Dominic Colangelo (145), Mark Carovillano (152) and Will Bachert (160) all pinned their opponents to stake the Knights to an 18-0 lead, one they would not relinquish.

The Titans mounted a comeback, winning the final three bouts, but bonus points were the difference.  Each team won seven matches, but North Penn had four wins by fall and one forfeit victory (285), while CB South had four pins.

Matt Prestifilippo bumped up to 119 pounds to wrestle South's Carl Seyboldt in the best matchup of the afternoon.  Prestifilippo scored the only takedown of the bout in the second period and hung on for a 3-1 decision.

The final two matches (135 and 140) provided some thrilling finishes.  North Penn's Joe Grunklee was leading his match against Todd Rogers, 7-4, late in the third period, but an escape and takedown at the buzzer sent the match into overtime, where Rogers scored the decisive takedown, winning 9-7.

At 140, South's Rich Christie was trailing North Penn's Randy Haun, 6-4, before gaining an escape and a buzzer-beater takedown to slip by, 7-6.

North Penn (8-4) will continue its National Conference schedule Wednesday night, as they host the Abington Ghosts at 7 pm.
