Bensalem Comes Back Late to Beat Knights
TOWAMENCIN – The Bensalem Owls rolled off three wins in the final three bouts of the evening to erase a 14-point deficit and beat the North Penn Knights, 36-35, Wednesday night. Trailing 35-21 entering the 130-pound bout, the Owls sandwiched pins by Brandon Brickner (130) and Greg Probst (140) around an overtime win by Ken Maicher (135) to complete the comeback. Probst’s pin of Randy Haun in 1:49 clinched the match for Bensalem (17-8, 5-2 SOL). Four Knights won their matches by fall, including Dominic Colangelo (145), Will Bachert (160), Rocco Rossi (189) and Tony Lozzi (285). North Penn finishes the regular season with a 12-12 record, 2-5 in the Suburban One National Conference. The Knights will compete in the District I Section II Tournament at Upper Perkiomen High School on Saturday, February 9.
