WARRINGTON – For the first time since 2003, the North Penn Knights had multiple district champions, as Matt Prestifilippo (112) and Mike Incollingo (125) each won his bracket at the District One North tournament at Central Buck South High School on Saturday.

Heavyweight Tony Lozzi will join Prestfilippo and Incollingo at the Southeast Regional tournament next week, as he placed third in his weight class.

North Penn finished in 8th place out of 19 teams with 65 points and were one of four teams to crown two champions. Quakertown and Hatboro-Horsham tied for the team championship with 129 points each, and Jon Weibel was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler.

For the third time this season, Prestifilippo met Central Bucks West's Chris McGinley in the finals of a tournament. And like the previous two matchups (at the Southeast Classic and at last week's Section II tournament), this bout would see extra time. Prestifilppo and McGinley were tied at 5-5 and went scoreless through sudden victory and two tiebreak periods. Prestifilippo chose top in the rideout period and held McGinley down for the 30-second ride-out, earning his second straight district title.

He is North Penn's first back-to-back district champion since Zac Fryling.

Incollingo plowed his way through the 125-pound weight class for the second consecutive week, pinning his first two opponents before winning by major decision, 9-1, over Quakertown's Briar Malischewski in the final.

Lozzi avenged a 4-3 loss in the quarterfinals to Hatboro-Horsham's Alex Myers by defeating him, 5-1 in the consolation finals to take the bronze medal.

The Knights' fourth competitor in the tournament, Dominic Colangelo, went 1-3 and placed sixth at 145 pounds.

The Southeast Regional tournament will take place next Friday and Saturday at Council Rock South High School.
