Prestifilippo in Quarters, Incollingo Battles Back in Hershey HERSHEY – North Penn's 112-pounder, Matt Prestifilippo stamped his ticket to the PIAA quarterfinals with a 3-1 victory over Northampton's Jordan Glykas at Giant Center in Hershey. Prestifilippo scored a takedown in the first period and made it stand, as he avenged a loss to Glykas earlier this season. Coincidentally, the loss to Glykas on December 28 at the Hurricane Tournament was the last loss Prestifilippo had this season. The Knights' 125-pounder, Mike Incollingo had to battle his way through the wrestlebacks to get through to the second day of the tournament. Incollingo was pinned in the first period by Sam Sherlock of West Mifflin in 45 seconds. But like Prestifilippo did earlier in the evening, Incollingo avenged an earlier loss to a Northampton wrestler to advance. After scoring a takedown in the first period on the Konkrete Kids' Josh Yurasits, Incollingo ran an arm bar in the second period and got the slap at 2:56 of the second period to advance to Friday's consolation round. Yurasits had beaten Incollingo at the Hurricane tournament, as well. Prestifilippo's quarterfinal opponent will be Middletown's Shane Miller, while Incollingo will wrestle the loser between Rocco Wellek (Cathedral Prep) and Joe Waltko (North Allegheny) in the second round of wrestlebacks. Wrestling begins tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm with the quarterfinals, immediately followed by the consolation round. Matt Prestifilippo (1-0 @ 112) Mike Incollingo (1-1 @125) North Penn wrestlers in bold. |
