Indians Thump Depleted Knights, 57-21
RED HILL – The Upper Perk Indians thumped a depleted North Penn Knights wrestling squad, 57-21, Thursday night in a non-league duel meet. North Penn won three of the first four matches, but would win only one of the remaining matches the rest of the way. North Penn was forced to forfeit three weights (112, 215, 285). Evan Conti had North Penn's only pin for the second consecutive night, a defensive pin of Daniel Rodenberger in the first period.
Dominic Colangelo began the match with a 16-0 technical fall over Cody Ambrose at 145 pounds. Randy Haun (160) and Will Bachert (171) also won their matches for the Knights. Bachert's win came by injury default over Nick Edmonson. Bachert took Edmondson down to his back at the end of the first period, and the Upper Perk wrestler immediately asked for injury time. The match went into the second period, but Edmondson defaulted shortly thereafter.
North Penn (0-2, 0-1 SOL Continental) will return to the mats Wednesday night at home against Hatboro-Horsham in an SOL Continental matchup.
